2025 GMC Yukon AT4 Ultimate: Rugged, Refined, and Ready for Anything
If you’ve ever looked at a luxury SUV and thought, “Could this handle a mountain pass and valet parking at the same time?” — the 2025 GMC Yukon AT4 Ultimate just raised its hand and said, “Absolutely.”
This beast of a vehicle brings off-road chops, luxury-level comfort, and some seriously intuitive tech into one polished package. I recently had the chance to experience it up close, and let me tell you, it’s not just another big SUV. It’s a power move on wheels.
A few important price facts:
Base price: $95,300
Upgrades $4985 (including Night Vision, Illumination Package, Cargo Mats etc.
Total w/ upgrades: $100,285
💪 Performance: Strong, Smooth, and Surprisingly Nimble
Let’s start under the hood: the AT4 Ultimate is loaded with a 6.2L V8 engine that cranks out 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. For diesel fans, the available 3.0L Duramax turbo-diesel delivers even more torque — perfect for towing, long road trips, or just gliding up a steep grade with ease.
Towing capacity? Up to 8,400 lbs. Weekend toys, trailers, or a wildly overpacked camping trip — bring it on.
🛣️ Ride Quality: Off-Road Grit Meets On-Road Grace
This isn’t just a rugged machine — it’s smart, too. The air ride adaptive suspension raises the vehicle up to 2 inches when needed and keeps things smooth when the road gets rough. Paired with 4WD and all-terrain tires, this Yukon is fully prepared for whatever route you choose.
On the highway, it cruises like a dream. On dirt roads, it digs in and holds steady. In a word? Capable.
🪑 Interior: Tough on the Outside, Luxe on the Inside
Slide into the Obsidian Rush interior and you’re greeted by a cabin that’s elegant without trying too hard. Full-grain leather, red stitching, real wood trim, and metal accents give it that just-right blend of rugged and refined.
The front seats are heated, ventilated, and even massaging — because your spine deserves nice things. In the second row, passengers get their own climate controls and plenty of space. The panoramic sunroof lets everyone enjoy the view, no matter where you’re sitting.
Oh, and did I mention the 18-speaker Bose sound system? Crisp. Clean. Car-concert ready. And it’s right in the headrest!
🤖 Tech: Super Cruise and Then Some
The real MVP here is Super Cruise — GM’s hands-free highway driving system. It keeps the Yukon centered, adjusts your speed, and lets you enjoy the drive in a whole new way (while keeping your eyes on the road, of course).
Other tech treats include:
- A crisp, responsive 16.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system that feels more like a command center. It’s HUGE – I’m a size queen so I loved it.
- Back Seat Tech – built into back of the front seats – excellent for keeping little ones occupied & feeling like they have their own entertainment center
-
Night Vision (yep, like military-grade alertness in SUV form) – it’s a $2k upgrade (as of this blogpost date)
-
Head-Up Display
-
Rear Camera Mirror
-
Driver Attention Assist
💥My Steering Wheel Obsession – Room for my hands!
Zombie Apocalypse Rating:
As with any SUV, it’s great for the short term before shit hits the fan. Plenty of room for all your “GTFO” stuff. With a combined MPG of 16, it’s not practical in the long run but it’s great as a bug-out vehicle if you want to escape in luxury!
Social Responsibility Rating:
General Motors (GM), GMC’s parent company, has received recognition for its social responsibility efforts, including being named one of the World’s Most Ethical Companies by the Ethisphere Institute. They have also been recognized for their commitment to environmental sustainability and social impact, including a focus on electric vehicles (EVs), carbon neutrality, and diversity and inclusion. It also looks like they were big supporters of the Dems in the last election which is right up my alley!
